May be somebody have heard of knoppix. (http://www.knoppix.net) This
is a full system based on Debian could be bootup and being run
directly from a 700M CD. No installation is needed. If Firebird has
a port for knoppix linux. Within a 700M CD knoppix, it is actually a
full 1.7G system with full 2.4.20 installation with KDE/Gnome,
Koffice/OpenOffice and Mozilla and .... Therefore, a workable
Firebird Knoppix could be very small and it is also possible to fit
into a normal compact flash ram card!
