That's it, binary subtype.

Firebird stores binary data. It doesn't know whether it's a JPEG or GIF image
(as a JPEG image doesn't know whether it's a beutiful blonde girl or your old
dog at lunch :-D)

I did, years ago, with Interbase and C++ Builder. Recently, I tried it with
Php, just for testing, and it worked.
