Helen,
while I agree with most of your points, I think cooling down a bit
on both parts would help the discussion.
I must add some corrections and own opinions.

using codenames in forum names is common practice, and does not
suggest that the codename is going to be used as a brand name.
Actually, there have been signs of the contrary (ie the Firebird name
will disappear from the final product brand name).

HB> It is not false. Nobody from Mozilla contacted us. Is somebody lying to you?

Brendan said "the last sentence", which he has the right to claim false
(or, to put it another way, Doug hasn't the right to claim true since
he wasn't there - and if he was, he should have objected! ;-))-
Brendan hasn't said the whole paragraph is false - actually the first
part is true and is the source of all this, IMHO.

HB> Asa lied publicly. He claimed we hadn't written

Asa didn't lie, it was just your wrong attribution to him of the words on
mozillazine. He might have lost a couple emails in the flood he
received, but the very fact that he asked you to resend yours means he
is willing to communicate. FWIW he replied to my email.

HB> Actually, I don't see that there is "presumption of evil intent".

The very same message (from Doug) that Brendan is replying to tells
the contrary. I could quote but I'm sure you have it already.
As I said, we should all cool down a bit.

HB> There's
HB> definitely very clear evidence of arrogance, callousness, arbitrariness and
HB> just plain old lack of professionalism.

now that's the kind of statement that help discussion. As a steering
member of the Firebird Foundation you should perhaps behave
accordingly to the responsibilities that implies. As far as the
mozilla crowd can see, you are not talking for yourself, you express
the opinions of the "firebird side", which aren't necessarily as
bitter as your words suggest.

I fully agree with all the parts I haven't quoted.
Ciao
