Frank, Dave, Jason and others,
I absolutely agree with these ideas. It would be *very* useful. I am also
thinking about the following extension. It seems interesting to me if we
could let the 'Realy Useful' section of the IBDI site grow more, i.e.
provide and maintain a base of solutions that shows how particular problems
can be easily/effectively/gracefully solved with the existing abilities of
Firebird. It should be not only articles and simple examples but also
real-world databases/applications or their fragments which could help
develepers to learn how to use the entire power of Firebird. Yeah, it
already exists but maybe it could be somehow reorganized to combine the best
things that exist in MSDN, Borland Code Central and other development
resource centers. Anyone who implemented something
non-trivial/interesting/useful and who is able and want to publish the
results of his/her work, could significally help others. Maybe a separate
[relatively low-traffic] mailing list could be established where Firebird
development tricks which aren't widely known (such things as described on
Claudio's and Ivan's sites) could be periodically discussed and where
InterBase/Firebird gurus could share their experience with other developers.
Sounds too global for now but maybe in the future...
Just thoughts. Now back to the source code.
Cheers,
Dmitry
