Yes, Zope is application server, right, and is very powerful. It is
also a powerful content management system, yet can be used for simple
pages quite easily.
I think the basic concepts can be learnt within a day and will save you
a LOT of time later.

Definitely, I suggest to try it out! And you can manage the site over a
Web interface, too.

And moreover, it comes as a package with most distros of Linux (RedHat
PowerTools, Debian) ready and setup for you...
