An anecdote from current time.
I had a course for some people yesterday regarding IB/FB and when I was preparing that monday evening I went around (among others) IBPhoenix, IBDI and cvalde. Then they all worked and all was good. My first point at the course was to guide them around the IB/FB world on the web and, pretty emberasing, both IBDI, IBObjects and cvalde was down. Not fun, I guarantee. Well I don't blame anyone, just had to tell somebody of my bad start at my very first course. The rest of the day was god though and they were _very_ impressed by FB.
As I see it (and what I know of) is both IBPhoenix and IBDI a very good start for newcomers, thats the links that I tell people to visit. As my time allowes, I follow the debate of an official FB site in this list and I think that, yes it would be great to have an official FB site to direct newcomers to but IBDI and IBPhoenix does a _very_ god job and there is plenty information there. It's also importent that there should not be to mutch either because one that is new and don't get it yet is scared when there is to mutch information to swallow. New ones appreciate more if thay can get some help and someone that can show them how things works. I'm very fortune in that I have access to an educationroom with some computers and a big screen where I can put together several persons and show them FB (yeah, I think its d--n cool...) I think that it's worth very mutch when you have the opportunity to show people and guide them around, then they don't care if it's 5 or 10 sites that has the information they want as long as they feel safe.
I'm not very active in these IB/FB list's but I try to do other things and to recruit more people to get involved in the "community". There is so many of you that know so mutch and can express yourself and does a very god job in the list's. The FB-world feels like a family and I'm proud of you, the community...

In case you are interested, the members of that course was from the biggest amusement park in scandinavia and they can't wait to put there hands on FB, today they use MSSQL/Access and are not always happy with that. I aggreed to help them in any way I can and what time allows.
