I think it is very nearly there !
I suspect Markus will disagree, but here is my opinion :

I think the yellow background is quite bright, my personal preference is for
something a little duller and I tend to use IVORY which equates to #FFFFF0.
It is somewhere between what you currently use and Markus' desire for pure
white.

I personally would avoid white as it can lead to flicker/banding on some
monitors where the frequency is not/cannot be set high enough and this
causes eye strain in some users. #FFFFF0 is less bright than pure white and
doesn't have the same effect.

I bet you never thought life would be so hard when you took this task on :o)
