Peter,
I had problems using Grisoft AVG with Eudora 5.1 - the outgoing-mail scan
broke the SMTP send. Might this be another problem?
Try adding
[Debug]
LogLevel=127
to the top of eudora.ini -- then check eudora.log to see what's happening.
Kaspersky Antivirus is pretty good, I use Sophos (despite the expense)
because it catches *everything* and is both efficient and unobtrusive.
