Yes, you're right I'm using Classic - and have allways done - there was
nothing else when IB3.3 was the hottest :-).

I've been waiting for the SuperServer II architecture (best of both
worlds?) :-)

Sorry for posting on the wrong list, but this was not meant as a IB support
question - but "FireBird" would have been the better place.

So I either switch to SS or forget about making backups on my server for
now.

Hi -

The services API is definitely there, however, it was primarilly designed
for SuperServer and not originally for classic (not my decision). Because
of this, the calls from IBConsole won't work (though they could be made to
work pretty easily).

So, check and see what architecture you are using. I would guess that it
is classic.
