My 2c:
Away with BDE and ODBC!
I often use fixedlength ASCII file, which IB can handle as external tables
- fast for big one time imports.
..or TClientDatasets´CDS-flies (support Blobs, XML and easy to deploy - 1
DLL - no BDE)
IBX should not be affected by dbDirect, but they are both beta, so I go for
IBObjects - only use IBX for service API.
