Maybe they are doing a double take. If in fact borland is able to generate
profits from supporting interbase or interbase related products and
services then it's worth it to pursue any task which would make interbase
popular. If on the other hand Borland is not making any profit at all or
just a little profit it is probably not woth the effort to pursue any of
these avenues.

What they are probably doing is to see if any revenue is coming in at all.
My guess is that if there is any revenue to be generated from support it's
not going to borland. Most support contracts are probably going to newco
and not Borland. It's probably just not worth it to them at this point to
spend resources on anything IB right now. If anything IB is probably a loss
leader for them because they are still paying people to maintain the code
while not generating any revenue.

Of course I have no real knowledge of anything going inside borland all
this is just my take on current state of things.
