Hi,

Yes thats what I do. The installer checks for the existance of the dll at the
start of the install, and if its not there it exits with a message saying the
dlls not there install if from the client install. If I don't do that the
install fails unplesently when it tries to install the driver.

This way I can give a helpfull message before its to late.

If the dll is there, I check the version, and if its before 6 I issue a warning
that there may be problems with the install and it may be better to upgrade. I
have had problems with at least one 5.0 dll.

The dll is not in the install now, so there is no danger of replacing anything.
