finding bugs left and right) this shouldn't take too much time to replace,

releases to beta. Now you are releasing a raw may not even work version
at the pre-alpha state even at times and we expect it to be buggy...in
fact its expected in open source ("hey this thing dont compile and crashes
frequently" or "this thing can't even do a single select" is common in
alpha release open source). Now when it gets to beta after about 10,000
bugs are reported in with the patches accompanying them, I can say with
fair certainty it will be in better shape than the auto-tested versions
approved by some test suite...yes the suite will be nice, but is it really
necessary at this time?
In effect I wish to know whats holding us back? Whats missing that can't
be replaced by a few thousand extra monkeys like me pressing the
unexpected buttons on the keyboard? Am I missing the point of the test
suite all together?
