a very well thought out show:

you have 2 teams of n people and each week the teams compete on TV and the
loosing team must throw someone out. And the last person left gets
$1,000,000. This is don on a tropical island and they did not drop them off
with the proper supplies.

I think they started out with 8 or 10 people on a side. So the total cost
for cast is under 100,000 an episode with the guarantee of not having a
bunch of stars at the end of the season, if it is a success then just pick a
new bunch of unknowns and do it again.

And I think it is getting good ratings
