I am willing to offer whatever support I can to the effort of getting a fork
of the Interbase source functioning AWAY from the taint of Borland.

We do need a name change so that we can remove ourselves from any
association with Borland and to release us from the impacts of the
"amendments" tacked to the bottom of the licence agreement. The future of
such a release would then only require the statement: "This product includes
software developed by Inprise Corporation. " (And since few recognise the
name "Inprise" anyway it should not taint our new product too much.)

In essense: If we cannot rely upon Borland to stand-by its statements,
products or people then we need to remove ourselves from Borland as far as
possible.
