Steffen is right -- dialect 2 is designed for migration from V5 / V6 dialect 1 to V6 dialect 3.

Helen - an addition for your table:  (All from memory so forgive any errors)

Differences from V5 SQL Dialect 1 to V6 SQL Dialect 1

New Keywords:
TIMESTAMP, TIME, EXTRACT, YEAR, MONTH, DAY, WEEKDAY, HOUR, MINUTE
          SECONDS, ?TYPE?, CURRENT_DATE, CURRENT_TIME, CURRENT_TIMESTAMP

SQL Dialect 0 is no longer supported in V6 (official statement).  (SQL Dialect 0 was replaced
by dialect 1 in v4.0)

Hi Helen,

You wrote: What versions use Dialect 2?

None, this is a IB6 feature, to help migrating dialect 1 to 3. So as I
understand it, if your set your client to run dialect 2, you will get
"warnings" where there might be conflicts when running dialect 3.

But the experts will hopefully correct me if I'a wrong :-)
