Yes. As I was reading through the rest of this huge thread I realized that what we need isn't
the full complexity of what is being discussed here. We just need a way to do the equivalent of
"external tables" that allow us to combine a number of them into a single, separate fdb file
(instead of separate text files), with full indexing, datatype support, transaction support and
random access.

I suspect our needs could be met much more easily than what Vlad is proposing, and crippling the
true cross-database queries functionality to JUST meet our needs would make it NOT meet a lot of
other needs.
