Hear, hear! I've run in to this many times. Database Workbench has a
workaround (to dropping all instances and then recreating), but it also
works only if the view is not in use.

Subject: [Firebird-Architect] drop/recreate view in use
Guys,
I do my best to do any changes to metadata without users connected to
the database, but sometimes, I need to do it when the database is in
use.
Last week I had this scenario, I need to recreate a view, but could not
do it because there are some user "using it", it's was hard to find the
person and solve the problem.
What's the possibility to allow FB to recreate (alter) a view that is in
use (the user who is using keep the old view) the newer requests uses
the updated view.
see you !
