With Vulcan, not only does classic have a future, in a way, classic is
the future. Yes, fine-granularity threading will make the shared engine
faster, but for fast loading and such operations eliminating the
context switch between application and database is a real win. And
there will continue (I suspect) to be environments with light processes
and bad threading packages where classic will also have a home.
