1. Batch operations can be performed with EXECUTE BLOCK statement.
2. Block - what do you mean ?
3. Compression has nothing common with traffic speed-up.

Low network performance is because of big number of roundtrips with small packets.
Since internet connections usually have big latency each roundtrip adds noticeable
value to overall performance.
