Ted,
You have one helluva credibility problem on your hands.
Given your company's long tradition of neglecting Interbase,
I am amazed at your press release. I can only imagine that
all the Sr. VP's drew straws to see who would be the author.
It is ironic that Doc Searles was a featured speaker at this
year's BorCon. Have you read Cluetrain? I have. Consider
thesis #16:
"Already, companies that speak in the language of the pitch,
the dog-and-pony show, are no longer speaking to anyone."
Well, I'm not sure who Borland is speaking to anymore.
While I do believe that you would welcome new companies to
support Interbase, your assertions that Interbase will not be
shutting down, the you are working on a plan, and that you
appreciate the efforts of Mr. Beach and Ms. Harrison fly
in the face of reason and fact.
For the record, "I'm ready to be impressed". It's just that I can't
see you folks pulling it off. After all, you are what you do and
what you have done in the past.
So, with all due respect, pardon me for not believing much of
what you are saying.
