Are there some documents that Borland would have given to newbie
developers to get them up to speed on the source code or was it all
basically handhold style teaching?

It would be nice if there were some form of 10,000' foot overview to the
basic server code and how it relates.

It could help the general group to get up to speed faster without
repeating the same questions over and over or missing important points
because they don't have the same experience in their background.

Just a thought, maybe, if you are up to it Jim, you could put it
together and then sell it as a part of the newco's developer support
plan.....

best regards

Dalton
