Likely. I have a foggy memory of this being possible in
v3.x. Might have to load it up and give it a try. :)

Would there be a beneficial reason to take shadowing a
level further and give it table level granularity so that
you didn't have to shadow the entire database? I suppose
that would solve a slightly different problem than
failover though.

Being able to un-couple the shadow from the parent on
demand would also be a nice enhancement.
