this still leaves enough room to approach a realistic solution.
Unless the "thinking" that is done on my behalf is flawless I had better be
able to get in somewhere and override that "thinking". I can think of a few
cases in the Arizona State Capitol where InterBase would have been tossed
out the door and replaced by Oracle (we have the budget to do it) but
because I've been able to get InterBase to do everything we need (so far)
that hasn't happened. I wouldn't have been able to without some overrides.
I think InterBase should maintain a focus on being a near maintenance free
solution but I don't think we should assume too many things, including that
DBA's and such are too stupid to get in and tinker with a few options if
necessary.
Fortunately we will have the source so I suppose I can always get in under
the hood at that level if I needed to. I'd sure rather not have to though...

InterBase will be the database of the new millennium.
