I really like GFS's dlock extension to the SCSI and fiber channel bus
protocols (it also supports coherency over IP). Too bad the one cost
effective drive and firmware combo is no longer available.
15+ years of Unix "progress" and we still can't match VMS's clustering
technology.
There is a lot of hack value in trying though. Perhaps when the source is
freeed (when? when?) some enterprising folk will take it on.
