Why does compiler needs to be open source?
Let's not overdo. Isn't free compiler enough?

I guess if one writes non-ultra-tricky C++ code,
Borland free C++ compiler for Windows
and GNU open source C++ compiler for UNIX will
cover most of what's needed.
