Helen and all,

While the below explains your response I think you should consider that for
every newbie that posts inappropriately there are potentially some unknown
number more watching and trying to work out what goes where. Perhaps a
standard response to inappropriate posts could include a brief summary of
the various forums and their purpose.

The alternative is that we tend to come across as a rather unfriendly place
since they (newbies) do not necessarily see the full history of a response
(spread across multiple forums). I know I didn't.
